Teaching My Largest Workshop at Whinstone View

Recently, I had the privilege of hosting my largest photography workshop to date at Whinstone View, welcoming 16 enthusiastic students eager to expand their skills. The venue, with its picturesque landscapes and rustic charm, provided the perfect backdrop for our sessions.

The day began with an introduction to the core principles of photography. I focused on the importance of understanding light, composition, and exposure. With a diverse group of students, each with varying levels of expertise, I tailored the sessions to ensure everyone would benefit. The atmosphere was both collaborative and motivating, filled with a shared desire to learn and create.

As we ventured outdoors, I guided the students through practical exercises. We explored various techniques, from capturing the essence of the scenery to experimenting with different angles and perspectives. The students were eager to apply what they learned, and it was invigorating to witness their creativity unfold.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the constructive feedback session. Each student had the opportunity to share their work, and I provided personalised critiques, alongside input from their peers. This not only fostered a sense of community but also allowed everyone to recognise their unique strengths and areas for improvement.

Throughout the day, there were moments of camaraderie, laughter, and the occasional challenge. Some students encountered difficulties with technical aspects, but these moments turned into valuable learning experiences. By the end of the workshop, I could see that each participant had not only refined their photographic skills but also developed a newfound confidence in their abilities.

As we concluded the workshop, I encouraged the students to continue exploring their passion for photography. The enthusiasm they displayed throughout the day was palpable, reminding me of the joy that photography can bring. It was heartening to see 16 individuals leave with a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration.

Teaching at Whinstone View was not only a professional milestone for me but also a rewarding experience that underscored the power of sharing knowledge and creativity. I look forward to future workshops and the opportunity to continue nurturing the skills of budding photographers.
